PowerSaver equalizers provide a de-emphasis signal conditioning function.  They attenuate the low frequency signals and pass the high frequency signals providing a more open eye at the receiver inputs.  Two devices are currently offered – the DS38EP100 and the DS80EP100.  The first one is optimized for 2 to 5 Gbps, while the second is centered for 5 to 12.5 Gbps applications.  These devices can be placed anywhere in the path and do not require a power or ground connection.  They function with LVDS, CML or LVPECL interfaces and work with coded or un-encoded data providing an economical solution to the problem.
