Crosspoints, such as the DS25CP104A provide the basic 4X4 switch functions. The small switch is equally efficient at selection, splitting, and repeating functions. They also provide handy signal conditioning features to extend the signal reach with equalization and pre-emphasis drivers. These are great for system redundancy and fanout applications commonly found in a SDI high speed router. Some of the dedicated SDI function parts also merge this handy function. The LMH0356 reclocker features both a FR4 equalizer and the 4:1 MUX function to handle the data recovery and collection tasks.
