The QE family of microcontrollers are based on the S08 and ColdFire V1 cores that provide high performance even at low voltage levels for battery operated applications. New features in the QE family include 50 MHz CPU and 25 MHz bus speeds, a memory management unit, more than 64 K memory map, multiple comparators, and a new DBG module. It also features a trace into and out of reset feature, LOOP mode to make code tracing more effective, and SET/CLEAR/TOGGLE registers on two I/O ports. The QE includes new ultra low power stop modes which allows limited use of peripherals, an internal clock source, and an enhanced external oscillator for accurate time base in low-power modes.
