The MC9S08QE128, or QE, is part of NXP's Flexis series of 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers that have pin-for-pin compatibility with a common set of on-chip peripherals and development tools. The innovative migration between the QE 8-bit and its 32-bit counterpart can be easily accomplished with the swap of a chip. To address the need for high performance but low power, NXP has added ultra-low power peripherals to the QE family of devices. The 8-bit QE device also provides more headroom with up to 128K of flash for customers who have reached a performance ceiling.
