Renesas RF Synthesizers / PLLs with integrated VCO accept a local clock reference or a synchronized clock reference and multiply it to a large range of possible RF output frequencies with exceptional performance. The devices provide a frequency reference to mixers, modulators or de-modulators, and in some cases are also used to directly provide a sampling clock to RF converters.
