The fourth competitive advantage is the sensor’s accuracy, which is divided into two parts. The first part is high accuracy. This sensor measures values down to 0.01º, allowing the sensor to provide high system accuracy in an application. The second part is that the sensor is still accurate under misalignment. Depending on the application, if accuracy under 1% is desired, there is a wide range for air gap and shaft alignment. For example, if there is wear on a component that is causing misalignment of the shaft, and only 1% accuracy is needed, Honeywell’s SMART Position Sensor, Rotary Configuration, can provide high accuracy under these changing conditions. This will be illustrated on the following slide.
