The IoT market moves fast. Products can be obsolete before they are released if development and qualification take too long. With that in mind, EM has several tools to accelerate time to market. Battery life is particularly important, and it is a hard to estimate feature. Even so, the customer needs to be confident that the device will last for its rated life, especially if it is several years. EM’s extensive testing, under a variety of loads, in environmental chambers that allow the device and battery to be exercised over the full range of temperature, inform the battery life calculator, giving the customer confidence that if it determines the device is going to run for four years, then it is going to run for four years.
