The documents of the “Automotive Electronics Council” have acquired great importance for the area of the automotive industry, for example AEC-Q200. It defines various electrical and climatic tests and the level of test severity. The high number of test patterns and the nature of the tests ensure that the quality of a component is tested in many different respects. Humidity tests in particular provide a high level of test severity. IECQ-CECC certification ensures that a full battery of challenging and advanced tests have been performed with satisfactory results, as required by the professional electronics industry. These requirements for short-term and long-term tests are defined for thin-film chip resistors in standard EN 140401-801. Compliance with these requirements is ensured through periodic audits by an independent external institute. Fixed limit values are assigned to reach and maintain the CECC certification mark, thus ensuring an unusually high standard of quality. Periodic repetition of CECC tests also guarantees uniform high quality. A CECC-certified product is identified by a CECC logo on the datasheet, on the label, and on the product packaging.
