With all of the sensing that is available in this integrated device, the following diagnostics are available: over-temperature protection, warnings for high temperatures, over-current protection, over- and under-voltage protection, short circuit protection (enabled by drain source monitoring), shoot through protection, cross conduction protection to prevent high and low side switches from being ON at the same time, and low charge monitoring for the charge pump. In most cases, the gate drives are turned off and there is a way to turn them back on using SPI. A window watchdog monitor also allows for detecting a locked up IC. All of these fault conditions and fault codes are readable by SPI.
