Summary
In summary, Nichicon’s GYA series of conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors meets high-temperature, low-ESR performance demands in the automotive onboard electronics and industrial machinery fields. However, demand is also increasing in the consumer electronics fields for products that offer higher performance, higher ripple current and an extended life. With the launch of the GYB series, Nichicon will contribute to higher performance, higher ripple current and extended lifespans in various applications in consumer electronics and other fields. Conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors use an electrolyte that consists of a conductive polymer and a liquid electrolyte solution that combines that high heat resistance and low ESR performance of conductive polymer with the oxide restoration performance of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. This product has an expected life that is 1,000 hours longer at 125°C and has four times the ripple current compared to comparable aluminum electrolytic capacitors. At the same time, current leakage is reduced to 1/3 that of solid aluminum electrolytic capacitors, contributing to higher unit energy conservation. Nichicon’s development of electrolyte solutions and proprietary technology has produced the GYA series, a highly reliable product with a life expectancy of 4000 hours at 125°C. By combining the solid conductive polymer with a liquid electrolyte similar to the GYA series, the GYB series has ripple currents that are 1.2 to 1.4 times higher than the GYA series while maintaining a low ESR and a life expectancy of 10,000 hours at 105°C.
