The SPM15 series operates from the wide 4:1 input voltage ranges of 9-36V or 18-75V. The 9-36V range supports the nominal 12V, 24V, and 28V systems which are employed in transportation, industrial, and aerospace applications. The 18-75V range supports the nominal 24V, 28V, 48V, and 60 V systems most commonly found in communications environments. The 4:1 ranges allow a single product solution to support multiple nominal ranges. For example, in the cellular telephone market, some base stations use 24V power plants while others operate from 48V power systems. Using a Q48 input SPM15 converter would allow for a wireless system element to be deployed to either type of base station environment. The SPM15 models are available with 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 15V outputs, each delivering 15W of power in the industry-standard 1” x 1” footprint and pin-out. These units have an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, supporting the wide industrial temperature range. Being fully potted with a thermal encapsulant and a powder coated metal case, the SPM15 models are not only durable, but they have excellent resistance to corrosion from various petrochemicals, acids, and solvents, as well as resistance to salt fog and microbial growth. Other standard features include output voltage trim, remote on/off control, 1600V isolation with basic insulation, UL, CSA, and VDE safety certifications to the 60950-1 safety standards, the full range of standard protections, as well as RoHS compliance.
