The second family to be discussed, the DNT modules, are pre-certified low cost RF modules also based on FHSS technology. They are suitable for point-to point and point-to-multipoint wireless systems. DNT modules are multi-purpose, multi-functional, long range RF modules which support both analog and digital inputs and outputs and serial data. These modules are very small in size and occupy little real estate, for example the DNT90 and DNT24 measure 1.45’ x 1.04” inches. The radio modules are pre-certified, FCC, Canadian IC and where applicable ETSI. All DNT family radio modules are available in pin or surface mount versions. Another important design aspect to note is that the DNT900 and the DNT2400 are drop in replacements for each other, as are DNT24 and the DNT90 designed to be drop in replacements of each other. This allows a designer a great deal of flexibility. Within the DNT family there are products both in the 900 MHz and the 2.4 GHz range. As such products are available to be deployed world-wide with a choice of different frequencies, transmit power output and RF data rates. The 900 MHz ISM band of the DNT90 and DNT900 allows license-free use in the US, Canada, South America, and Australia, operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band allows the DNT24 and DNT2400 modules to be used license-free world-wide.
