By combining GPI- and GPO-configured ports, unidirectional level translator paths can be formed. The signaling at the input of the path can be different from the signaling at the end. For example, a unidirectional path could convert a signal from 1.8 V logic level to 3.3 V logic level. The unidirectional path configuration allows for the transmission of signals received on a GPI-configured port to one or more GPO-configured ports.
