The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Alternatively, it is a statement that energy can be transferred between a system and its surroundings through the transfer of heat or the performance of mechanical work. The first part is what applies to the designs, how to make sure heat has a path to flow from the source to the sink. This can be done via conduction, convection, and radiation. During this presentation, Würth Elektronik will focus on conduction.
