housing styles
The AMPLIMITE .050 series PCB connectors are offered in several styles depending on the retention method to be used for securing mated connectors. Plain style housings have a threaded hole to accept optional screwlock hardware that is used when the mating cable connector has male jackscrews. This type of threaded mating configuration provides a very secure connector-to-connector attachment. The latching blocks style is used when mating to cable applied connectors with spring latches. This configuration is typically used when quick connection and disconnection is a priority. The rails and latching blocks style is intended for the same application as the latching blocks style. The “rails” minimize potential contact damage caused when connectors are mated and unmated by providing additional alignment and preventing excessive side-to-side rocking.
