The PFE Series single-brick solution provides a lower cost and smaller footprint AC-DC solution.  Some external components are required, as is the case with other power modules, but the net result is a pc-board savings of up to 50% compared to a two-brick solution.  And, because the module and its external components can be fitted to a customer’s available space and shape, the PFEs work well in custom applications.
