The scope traces shown here illustrate the heavy loading pulse characteristics of a PAS capacitor (on the left) to another manufacturer’s comparable EDLC (on the right). These traces clearly show the PAS capacitor’s superior performance, which is due to its low ESR and high energy density. Additionally, these traces show that the PAS capacitor is very effective in heavy loading pulse situations, a weakness of secondary batteries, making it an ideal replacement for the batteries.
