Small Motor Drivers Slide 15

The current generation of devices can implement both the power bridge and control logic in single ICs. The PowerSPIN family of devices includes dual H-Bridge driver ICs with various configurations of control logic. All of the devices in the family share some common characteristics. For the L620 series each MOS has a typical Rds ”on” of 0.3 Ohm. The lower current L622 series has a typical Rds ”on” of 0.7 Ohm. All of the devices implement the gate drive, level shift, thermal protection, cross conduction protection and logic inputs like we have discussed. The devices also implement an over current detection and protection that can be used to protect against shorts on the output.
