This slide shows a size comparison between IPD and a LTCC part. On the left, is a simple LTCC diplexer which is roughly 1.28 mm2. When this part is used on the PCB, the required land pattern adds to the total area. Therefore this LTCC diplexer occupies approx. 3.08 mm2 area on PCB. On the right hand-side is an equivalent IPD-based diplexer in flip-chip package. The size of this component is roughly 1.37 mm2. The land-pattern on PCB for a flip-chip device does not require added solder resist. Therefore the net area occupied by the IPD diplexer is 65% less than the LTCC equivalent.
