LAPIS Semiconductor was established through a spin-off of the semiconductor business of Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. in 2008. Soon after the acquisition by ROHM, the Oki Semiconductor brand was changed to LAPIS and the organization made a new start as a member of the ROHM group of companies. LAPIS products are sold and supported by the ROHM sales organization throughout the world. The headquarters and design centers for LAPIS are in Shin Yokohama, Japan. As shown here, ROHM has manufacturing facilities in Japan and Thailand.
