DC-DC Converters in High Temperature Environments Slide 9
Today all engineers are driven to build products that save energy. One very important feature to take into account when designing a power supply is the consumption at no load conditions. When the converter is on, it is constantly drawing current from the main source even though there is no load. If this consumption is too high, engineers often build additional circuits to turn on and off the power converter depending on the load. These external circuits can be difficult to implement and increase the overall cost of the product. The RPP series of RECOM, with ICE technology, have a very low quiescent current, limiting the consumption (just a few milliamps) under no load conditions.
