In summary, GLiDERS™ are a hybrid battery holder utilizing a sliding tray system combined with a low cost battery retainer that delivers high reliability. GLiDERS are available in 22 styles accommodating single and dual cell configurations. These battery holders have a low profile and were designed for hand-held products that could be dropped, shaken and vibrated. The button cell battery is easily changed without tools or instructions due to the intuitive design. Since coin cell batteries are nickel plated, MPD battery holders have nickel plated contacts. Surface oxidation of nickel plating is a naturally occurring event, so it aids solder joint strength to use a solder paste that is compatible with nickel plated parts.
