The Analog Devices USB2PMB1# adapter board (commonly called “Munich”) receives commands from a laptop through USB to create an SPI interface. The USB2PMB1# board requires custom software known as Munich GUI which can be downloaded free of charge from Analog Devices. This Munich adapter board is used to enable USB-to-SPI interface for any Pmod™-compatible plugin peripheral modules such as the MAX11300PMB1 featuring the PIXI technology. The MAX11300PMB1 peripheral module (Pmod™) provides the necessary hardware to interface the MAX11300 20-channel programmable mixed-signal I/O device to any system that utilizes Pmod-compatible expansion ports configurable for SPI communication. The MAX11300EVSYS is a complete evaluation system featuring the Munich USB2PMB1 board and the MAX11300PMB1 board. Connect these together and then connect the Munich board to a PC with the mini-USB cable provided. Download the Munich GUI and the design engineer has a complete development and prototyping environment.
