NerOCleO-Slide5

From the block diagram it can be seen that there are a few key components built in to the CleO. The FT903 is a 32-bit SuperBridge MCU from Bridgetek – this allows bridging fast I/O devices, or accessories such as a camera, or for accessing SD card data on an Arduino based system. It is pre-programmed with CleO functionality requirements, although the ability to upgrade firmware over a Device Firmware update (DFU) port is also made available. The intention is to deliver a functionally powerful piece of hardware with very simple programming API through the Arduino command structure. The FT903 is acting as an SPI peripheral, bridging between the NerO master controller and the FT810 graphics control chip as well as a central hub for many accessories. Bridgetek’s FT810 is a 2nd generation EVE graphics controller with resistive touch control. This component will accept display lists from the FT903 over a QSPI interface that were initiated in the NerO application to build a suitable display for outputting on the 3.5”, resistive touchscreen display. Note that the native orientation is portrait, but the FT810 supports rotation for landscape orientated designs. eFlash and an SD card slot are provided for additional memory storage. This may include bitmaps, special fonts, video or audio content to be used in the final solutions.
