2. Formulation:
100% DeoxIT® Gold G100L, G-Series
3. Product Description:
Unique contact cleaner, conditioner, enhancer, lubricant and
protectant for PLATED metal surfaces. Improves conductivity,
maintains optimum signal quality, reduces fretting & dendrite corrosion,
and stabilizes connections between similar and dissimilar metals. Molecularly
bonds to both base-metals and plated surfaces and seals out oxygen, protecting
both surfaces. The DeoxIT® Gold coating is excellent at reducing wear abrasion,
arcing, RFI and intermittent connections and improves connector performance/reliability.
Ideal for gold plated surfaces. On oxidized surfaces, pre-treat with DeoxIT® D-Series contact cleaner.
Temperature* range: -45 to +240OC.
4. Features/Benefits:
100% Liquid, Safe on plastics.
DeoxIT® Gold G100L concentrate has approximately 0.5% chemical cleaning action.
Excellent conductivity enhancing, excellent protection, minimum cleaning/deoxidizing,
no ozone depletion. Prevents dendrite and fretting corrosion. Protects base metals.
Reduces intermittent connections, arcing, RFI, wear and abrasion. Ideal for both stationary and
moving (vibration) connections.
Cleaner Audio - Clearer Video - Reliable Data.
5. Which DeoxIT® product do I Use:
Use DeoxIT® D-Series contact cleaner on surfaces that have been in service or have visual signs of
oxidation. Contains 20% active cleaner.
Use DeoxIT® Gold G-Series conditioner on new surfaces, and gold plated surfaces. Ideal for preventing
dendrite/fretting corrosion. Protects both surface and base metals. Ideal for critical applications.
Contains >1% active cleaner.
Use DeoxIT® Shield S-Series to protect surfaces from severe environments (humidity, salts, pollutants,
sulfur, etc.). Use on clean surface. Contains 0% active cleaner.
6. Directions for Use:
1. Turn off, unplug the device.
2. On surfaces that have been in service or have visual signs of oxidation or corrosion
pre-treat with DeoxIT® D-Series contact cleaner (see Data Sheet DeoxIT® D-Series).
3. Next, select a DeoxIT® Gold G-Series applicator (pen, wipes, needle, etc.) that is best
for your application, see #8 below. Apply a small amount to the metal contact/
connector surface.
4. Operate the part/device to help distribute the DeoxIT® Gold and break up minor
amounts of oxides and contamination. Test for compatibility before use.
5. Re-apply DeoxIT® Gold to metal surface and wipe off excess. It is important to wipe
off excess, DeoxIT® Gold works best when a thin coating is on metal surfaces. Wait
two minutes before turning on equipment. Test for compatibility before use.
6. If you notice a green or black coloration on the surface (may take a few days) after
applying DeoxIT® Gold, this indicates dissolved oxidation (surface was severely
oxidized). Follow step “2-5” above one more time.
7. For severe environment protection: After surface is clean, apply DeoxIT® Shield
S-Series for outdoor and severe environments (humidity, salts, pollutants, sulfur, etc.).
8. Applicators:
a) Squeeze Tube (#G100L-2C): Used by OEMs for maintenence kits. Provides small
drop to surface.
b) Pen - felt tip (#G100P): Precision application, slight abrasive action. Provides
liquid through felt tips. Replacement tips avaialble.
c) Oiler Pen (#G100L-P6C): Very precise application of fluid. Provides pin-point
application of liquid. Ideal for hard to reach applications.
d) Oiler Squeeze Bottle (#G100L-25C): Similar to Oiler Pen, except in squeeze bottle.
e) Wipes (#K-G1W-25 and K-G1W-50): Individual packaged wipes (thin paper
material). For connections easily accessible and smooth surfaces, i.e. audio/video
connections, batteries, etc.
f) Wipes (#K-G50W): Jar with 50 wipes (thick cotton material). For connections easily
accessible accessible and smooth and irregular surfaces, i.e. edge connectors,
industrial connections.
g) Brush (#G100L-2DB): Small 7.4 mL bottle with brush applicator. General
purpose for applying liquid with a nylon brush. Ideal for applying to outer
and inner surface with wiping action. Care should be taken to keep brush
clean.
h) Bulk Bottles (#G100L-2, G100L-12, G100L-32): For production applications.
