TheTM20usesastandardtemperatureprobewhiletheTM25andTM26areequippedwitha
penetrationprobeforinsertionintomaterialsundertest.TheTM26functionsthesameasthe
TM25buttheTM26includesasoundreflectorforamplifyingitsbeeperandisNSFcertified,
meetingtherequirementsforuseinthefoodserviceindustry.

Themeter’sdisplayisshippedwithaprotectivefoilcovering.Pleaseremovecarefullybefore
use.
Poweringthemeter
Openthebatterycompartmentbylooseningthetwoscrewslocatedonthebackofthemeter
(oneithersideofthemagnet).InsertanewCR20323Vlithiumbuttonbatteryandclosethe
cover.Ifabatteryisalreadyinstalled,removetheinsulationstripsothatthebatterycanmake
propercircuitcontact.
Theinstrumentisnowreadyforuse.PresstheON/OFFkeyoncetopowerthemeter.The
meter’sprevioussettingswillbepreserved.
AllEUusersarelegallyboundbythebatteryordinancetoreturnallusedbatteriestocollection
pointsinyourcommunityorwhereverbatteries/accumulatorsaresold!Disposalinthehousehold
trashisprohibited!
SelectingoC/oFunitsofmeasure
PresstheoC/oFkeytoselectthedesiredtemperatureunitofmeasure.
MAXMINandHOLDFunction
Tofreeze(hold)thedisplayedreading,presstheMAX/MINkey.Thecurrentreadingwillbe
heldonthedisplayandtheHOLDdisplayiconwillbevisible.
PressMAX/MINagaintoviewtheMaximumreadingcapturedsincethelastreset;theMAX
indicatorwillbevisiblealongwiththeMAXreading.
PressMAXMINagaintoviewtheMinimum(MIN)temperaturereading;theMINiconwillbe
visiblealongwiththelowestreadingcapturedsincethelastreset.
ToresettheMAXandMINvaluespressandholdtheMAXMINbuttonfor3secondswhile
theMAXorMINiconisvisible.
ToreturntonormaloperationpresstheMAX/MINkeyagain;theHOLDMINMAXindicators
shouldnowbeoff.
SoundReflector(TM26only)
TheTM26includesasoundreflectorontherearoftheunit.Thisdeviceamplifiestheaudible
beepersoastobeheardfromgreaterdistances.
NSFCertified(TM26only)
TheTM26isNSFCertified,meetingtherequirementsforuseinthefoodserviceindustry.

TemperatureAlarms
Sethigh/lowalarmlimitsasdescribedbelow.Themeterwillthenaudiblyandvisuallyalertthe
userifeitherlimitisexceeded:
1. PresstheALARM/SETbuttononcefromthenormaloperatingmode;theupperlimitvalue
anditssymbol(uparrow)willflash.
2. Setthetemperaturelimitbypressingthebutton(pressandholdforfastscrolling).
3. NowusetheMAX/MINbuttontoactivate/deactivatethealarm(alarmsymbolwillappear
intheupperrighthandcorneroftheLCDwhenactivated).
4. VerifythesettingbypressingALARM/SET.
5. Performthesamestepsforthelowalarmlimit.
Aftersettingthealarms,theupperandlowerlimitsymbols(▲▼)willbedisplayedontheLCD
indicatingthatanupperandaloweralertvaluehasbeenset.Ifthemeasuredtemperature
exceedseitherlimit,thealarmbeeperwillsoundfor1minute.Thealarmbeepericonandthe
correspondingarrowwillflash.Pressinganybuttonwillswitchoffthealarm.
Whenthetemperaturereturnstothedesiredrangetheaudiblealarmwillstopsounding.The
arrowwillremainflashinghowevertoshowthatthetemperaturewashigherorlowerthanaset
valueatleastonceinthepast.PressthebuttontoswitchOFFtheflashingarrow.
