REF70 Ultra-high-precision voltage reference with low noise and low drift | First Look

Texas Instruments’ REF70 family of high-precision voltage references fulfills the growing need for ultra-precise voltage regulation with low noise and low temperature drift. They pair with high resolution data converters such as ADS127L11 for applications such as test and measurement, where precise voltage is critical, or medical imaging, where signal noise must be kept to a minimum. These voltage references feature excellent load and line regulation and high accuracy of ±0.025% with a wide range of input voltages up to 18 volts. Output voltages vary by device and are available between 1.25 and 5.0 volts, with an output current of ±10 milliamps. The REF70 family also offers the industry’s lowest 1 over f noise of 0.23 parts per million peak to peak from 0.1Hz to 10Hz , and integrated noise of 0.35 parts per million rms between 10 hertz and 1 kilohertz. The power supply rejection ratio of 107 decibels at 1 kilohertz means the REF70 family is flexible enough for a wide range of applications. With an operating temperature range of −40 to +125 °C, these voltage references work in a wide selection of industrial and scientific settings. In this range, REF70 family reference voltages provide a very low temperature drift coefficient of two parts per million per °C. The REF70 family is available in an LCCC package. The LCCC package is a hermetically sealed ceramic package that allows for low, long-term drift for applications that require a stable reference over a long time period without calibration. Typical uses for Texas Instruments REF70 voltage references include sectors in which precise voltage and low signal noise are critical, such as testing, measurement, instrumentation, and the medical imaging field.
