The convergence time is longer with darker reflectance materials, this means the convergence time is longer, and more power is needed. The power consumption of a 3 % reflectance is below 4 mA while a 17% reflectance target, which is closer to skin or most targets, is below 2 mA. This is a very power-friendly device.
