MOSFETs-Slide18

In summary, the MOSFET is typically used as power switch in a variety of applications, and is usually among the highest cost components in any electronic design. They are found in power conversion applications from very small battery chargers to mainframe power supplies. They are also used in motor control applications such as in power tools, e-bikes, and electric vehicles. Other common applications include computer motherboards and LED lighting circuits. Both P-Channel and N-Channel enhancement mode MOSFETs are common, with N-channel being the most popular.  Industry standard packaging makes multi-sourcing easy, and the device is easily benchmarked between different suppliers. ST is among the leaders in both low voltage (less than 200V drain rating) and high voltage (up to 1700V rated) MOSFET technology. More information can be found at www.st.com.
