This table compares different configuration of SPDT switch. As shown, the series SPDT has better Insertion Loss and a wide frequency range. The shunt SPDT, however, has a superior isolation. Finally, the combination of shunt-series configuration comprises the benefits of previous two configurations. It has the Insertion Loss characteristic of the Series SPDT, and high Isolation characteristic of the Shunt SPDT. However, one drawback of this configuration is the complexity of the bias circuitry. Typical switching diodes we have available are the BAP1321 series and BAP51 series.
