It is an add-on solution integrating the link control stack on an SoC. It can connect to any Microchip MCU/MPU that already runs the network stack. The wireless network controller is a network controller containing a transceiver, CPU, link control stack and network stack. It is an add-on solution integrating both network and link control stacks on an SoC. It connects to any Microchip AVR or SMART MCU with minimal resource requirements. The last variation of the SMARTConnect family is a Wireless Microcontroller. This is a standalone wireless MCU (combination of SAM MCU/MPU and Wireless SoC). This product offers high versatility in that it can be used standalone or as an add-on. It leverages the Microchip SMART peripherals and ecosystem and is available as a module or a SiP.
