Intel® tailors its design flow for each kind of engineer. The flow chart shown here shows each example. Although all three flows are possible remember there is always a trade off between latency, resource usage & flexibility when deciding on a flow. It is likely that designs will consist of a combination of all three, so partitioning a design correctly into which functions are designed in which flows is important to get an optimal design.
