Kingston® eMMC™ - The Perfect Storage Solution for Mobile and Embedded Applications
DigiKey now offers Kingston® eMMC™ Flash memory through its MarketPlace program.
This Flash memory conforms to the JEDEC eMMC 5.1 standard and has the NAND Flash and eMMC controller inside one JEDEC standardized package, providing the host CPU a standard interface. Having a standard interface ensures that the host processor doesn’t have to update its software to accommodate every change and variation in NAND technology.
Additionally, to significantly reduce the storage management burden on the host CPU, the eMMC controller directs the Flash management that includes ECC (Error Correcting Code), wear-leveling, IOPS (input/output operations per second) optimization, and read sensing.
Kingston eMMC Flash memory is a universal storage solution ideal for many electronic devices including, smart TVs, smart home appliances, smartphones, set-top boxes, tablet PCs, eBook readers, electronic learning products, and many wearable devices. In addition to being used in consumer products, many other embedded applications are adopting eMMC Flash memory because of its compact size, low-power consumption, and numerous enhanced features. These applications include Single Board Computers (SBC), robotics, medical devices, networking, and building control devices. With the rapid growth of the IoT market, eMMC is also finding its way to newer applications.
