Murata has four series of ferrite power inductors. The first two are shown on this slide. They have the largest case size of the ferrite power inductor series, supporting currents up to 15 A. The D Series inductors are available in varying levels of shielding utilizing either a ferrite epoxy coating or drum and ring orientation. They use traditional round wire for higher inductance values. The DEM Series provides the greatest magnetic shielding of the ferrite power inductor types, due to its fully enclosed case construction. This series utilizes flat wire technology to take advantage of better DCR and current handling capabilities.
