Silicon Labs Wireless Gecko Series 2 First Look Video

Welcome to First Look, brought to you by DigiKey and Silicon Labs. Silicon Labs’ Wireless Gecko Series 2 Modules provide designers the security features they need in a module design and, also, the option to shorten their development schedule by several months to get products to market faster. RF design is challenging and can take many design iterations to achieve the right performance. Then the product needs to pass regulatory certifications. Both of these steps add cost, time, and risk to the development schedule, but Series 2 modules let designers skip them both by providing a miniaturized, self-contained RF system with all the necessary components already integrated, including the antenna and RF matching networks, that is pre-certified with regulatory agencies around the world. The modules are based on Silicon Labs Wireless Gecko Series 2 platform and support popular mesh protocols including Bluetooth 5.1, Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee, Thread, and dynamic multiprotocol. Current Series 2 devices pair a high performance 2.4GHz transceiver with an 80MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 processor that includes Arm TrustZone® security extensions providing hardware-based isolation of secure and non-secure code. By combining this hardware isolation with crypto accelerators, a true random number generator, and secure boot with Root of Trust and Secure Loader, developers have access to a robust set of security features that are easy to use and keep the device and its data safe from misuse.
