Selecting Voltage References Slide 18

Shown on this slide is the TI offering relative to component cost. Naturally higher precision comes at a higher price. Selecting the voltage reference adequate for the task without seeking better specifications leads to the best price possible. For some of the parts TI also offers different grades, with slightly higher prices for higher accuracies. For example, the LM4128 comes in five accuracy grades ranging from 0.1% to 1.0% including a version with automotive Q grade. The grades are indicated from the highest in red to the lowest in blue, with additional sub-grades shown in dark-red, grey and dark blue. Specific precision levels are given in the respective datasheets.
