Texas Instruments' TPS54327, with D-CAP2 architecture, provides better than 20µs transient response time, which is ¼ of the response time of typical current mode or voltage mode control using similar 22 µF ceramic output capacitors. As a result, output voltage ripples less than 10 mV and is achievable without compensation components and tedious loop response calculations. The TPS54327 also has a proprietary circuit that enables the device to adopt to both low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output capacitors, such as POSCAP or SP-CAP, and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors.
