STMicroelectronics VIPer11 Voltage Converter | DigiKey Daily

STMicroelectronics' VIPer11 is an energy-saving off-line high voltage converter. This device integrates an 800 volt avalanche-rugged power MOSFET with PWM current mode control. The power MOSFET, with its 800 volt breakdown voltage, allows the extended input voltage range to be applied—from 4.5 to 30 volts, as well as the size of the drain snubber circuit to be reduced. The design of flyback, buck and buck-boost converters is supported. Multiple protections are included, like the built-in soft-start, for improved system reliability. The VIPer11 meets the most stringent energy-saving standards as it has very low consumption and operates in pulse frequency modulation under light loads. Ideal applications include small home appliances and white goods, home lighting, including LED lighting, and home automation.
