ME910G1-Wx CAT M1/NB2 Module
Telit Cinterion's ME910G1 modules enable increased power saving for IoT applications using PSM and eDRX
Telit Cinterion's ME910G1-W1 and ME910G1-WW CAT M1/NB2 modules are specifically tailored for low-data throughput IoT applications, exceeding market demands for optimized power consumption, and enhanced quality of coverage. This model further enriches the widely deployed Telit Cinterion xE910 family of 28 mm x 28 mm LGA modules.
The ME910G1-Wx module features OneEdge™ technology, a software suite integrated with deployment and management tools to address the complexity expected with the exponential growth in the number of IoT devices.
Compliant with 3GPP Release 14 (Rel. 14), the ME910G1 LTE UE CAT M1/NB2 module enables increased power saving for IoT applications using power saving mode (PSM) and extended discontinuous reception (eDRX). These features allow devices to wake up periodically and deliver only small amounts of necessary data before returning to sleep mode. Enhanced coverage enabled by maximum coupling loss (MCL) of up to +15 dB/+20 dB provides superior in-building penetration compared to earlier cellular LTE standards. LTE CAT M1/NB2 devices are optimized in cost, size, and power consumption compared to higher UE categories. 3GPP Rel. 14 compliance further improves these features by adding techniques to increase the data rate for LTE-M and NB-IoT.
The ME910G1-W1 and ME910G1-WW modules are compliant with 3GPP Rel. 14 and support LTE UE CAT M1 and NB2. Key features include PSM and eDRX to maximize battery life, and an MCL of up to +15 dB/+20 dB to ensure reliable indoor connectivity. For applications also targeted at markets outside the US, the ME910G1-WW variant offers global 2G fallback and LTE 23 dBm Power Class 3. Full Power Class 3 allows devices to operate in all network conditions, significantly mitigating coverage issues at cell edges and in other weak signal conditions, such as in deep indoor or underground environments. For devices deployed globally or across multiple countries, when outside the US, 2G fallback ensures connectivity where LTE-M and NB-IoT networks are not yet deployed on a national scale.
