CY8CKIT-003 PSoC3 FirstTouch Kit
Release Date: February 19, 2009
Thank you for your interest in CY8CKIT-003 PSoC3 FirstTouch Kit. This document lists the
installation requirements, limitations, and known bugs with Alpha release of the kit.
System Requirements and Recommendations
PSoC Creator 1.0 Beta1
PSoC Programmer 3.10
The minimum configurations required to run PSoC Creator are:
Windows Operating System: Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista 32-bit
2 GB Memory
1 GB Hard Disk Space
USB 2.0 (for MiniProg3 connection Beta1 requirement)
PSoC Creator requires the following software:
Windows Installer 3.1
.Net Framework 2.0 SP1
Keil Compiler
Adobe Reader (optional, but needed to view PDF files)
Installation
Insert the kit CD into your PC's CD-ROM drive. If the installer does not start automatically, start it
manually by clicking autorun.exe in the CD's root directory. After the installation begins, follow the
instructions during installation.
Notes
Do not connect your FirstTouch Kit with the USB port of a PC until all software installations are
complete.
If you have a previous installation of PSoC Creator and/or PSoC Programmer, you must uninstall
them before reinstalling PSoC Programmer and PSoC Creator.

Limitations and Known Bugs
The CapSense slider and Proximity functions do not work, because CapSense
functionality is not available at the time of this release. CapSense projects are not
included with this release of the kit.
The temperature calibration for the “ThermistorTemperatureSenseproject is not done.
The project is calibrated for 25 C only.
VBus sensing is not implemented in the design. The design will not pass USB back
voltage testing.
Suspend handling is not implemented in the design. The design will not pass USB
suspend current testing.
