Bourns Releases New Exposed Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Circuit Conditioning Solution
TEL-NOTE Solution and Design Kit
Riverside, California - TO BE RELEASED MAY 12, 2016 -
Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the Exposed
Power over Ethernet (PoE) Circuit Conditioning Tel-Note
to correspond with the new Design Kit TEL-NOTEKIT-2.
The design kit contains samples of the Bourns® Model
SM51625EL High Current Transformer used in the
solution.
Varying PoE implementations are found with some
standardized power levels. This solution allows
higher currents per center tap (1.2 A) than
standard solutions, supplying the powered
equipment with increased current while not
impairing Ethernet signal quality.

specification, by fitting in the specified limits defined in the Clause 40.8.3 for
Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) of the IEEE 802.3-2012, thus helps ensure an
application’s compliance to IEEE 802.3-2012.
The schematic shown here illustrates the conditioning of the application and does
not constitute the complete circuit design.
Customers should verify actual device performance in their specific applications.
