Remote Phosphor Light Source

Products in the remote phosphor light source category are used to optically convert a portion of the energy from a narrow band light source in the blue spectral region to other wavelengths in the visible spectrum, for the purpose of creating a light source that is perceived as white. A similar process is used for the production of LEDs that are perceived to emit white light directly, but by placing the phosphor materials at a distance from the light source the degradation of the phosphor material due to heat can be reduced, allowing greater optical stability over the life of a product.
